What do I need to start playing Pitch and Putt?

All you need to start playing Pitch and Putt are two clubs (pitcher and putter as the name suggests), tees and golf balls. Ideally choose a pitching club that you are comfortable hitting shots up to 70m and as short as 25m. In Pitch and Putt you are allowed 3 clubs in total so you might choose two different pitching clubs to accompany your putter.

What specific rules do you need to be aware of?

All holes in Pitch and Putt are par 3. All tee shots must be taken off a tee on the designated tee box. A maximum of 4 players per group. Each player must have his/her own equipment. Avoid slow play and keep your group moving along. MOST IMPORTANT. If you land on the green and make a pitch mark with your ball (a hole in the green) the pitch mark must be repaired to ensure the health of the green.

Where can I play?

In Kildare we are very fortunate to have 6 clubs within reasonable proximity of each other. We have clubs in Newbridge, Athgarvan, Kilcullen, Curragh Camp, Prosperous & Poulaphouca. All 6 clubs are open to new members as well as green fees. You can play a single round for as little as €5.00 per person payable at the club. Some clubs, such as St. Bridget's in Kilcullen, have an online payment system.

Our GREENS are our LIFEBLOOD

When playing Pitch and Putt the absolute most important thing to remember is to repair your plugmark should you land on the green. This is absolutely crucial to the health of our greens in the county. In each of our clubs you will be greated with a smile. However do not take offence to being asked to leave for non repair of pitchmarks.
